Data Security

Last updated: October 27, 2026

How we protect the data shippers and customers entrust to ShipBackHome.

1. Our Approach

ShipBackHome handles booking, customer, and payment data for shippers and their customers. We take that responsibility seriously and build security into how the platform is designed and operated, not as an afterthought.

2. Encryption

All data in transit between your browser and ShipBackHome is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Data at rest, including account information and booking records, is stored in encrypted databases provided by our infrastructure partners.

3. Infrastructure & Hosting

ShipBackHome is hosted on Vercel with data stored in Supabase, both of which maintain independent security and compliance programs for the infrastructure they provide. We do not run our own physical servers.

4. Payment Security

All card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. ShipBackHome never stores full credit card numbers on our servers — card details are sent directly to Stripe and we only retain tokenized references needed to process and track payments.

5. Access Controls

Access to production systems and customer data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate the platform, and is protected by authentication requirements. Shipper accounts are isolated from one another; a shipper can only see their own bookings, customers, and data.

6. Monitoring

We monitor the platform for errors, abuse, and suspicious activity, and apply security patches and dependency updates on an ongoing basis.

7. Reporting a Vulnerability

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in ShipBackHome, please report it to security@shipbackhome.com before disclosing it publicly. We will acknowledge your report and work to address verified issues promptly. Please do not access or modify data that is not your own while investigating an issue.

8. Incident Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this page as our security practices evolve. We will note the effective date at the top of this page.
